Best game of last year by a a good mile.
Kotaku can troll sometimes too. Maybe he had a too much wine tonight as well...
It's bad when you read a story, and then you comment, and then you think "I bet so and so wrote that" and then you were right.

grats on being a cliche tho.

That we even have to know and consider this stuff is just asinine. Gamers just seem so willing to just roll over and take it when it comes to this console.
Found gears 2 single player to be really underwhelming. First of all, in 90% of the fights you just sit behind one piece of cover playing shooting gallery. It's very obvious, these are your two pieces of cover, and over there are the enemies. Repeat. I thought the first game did a better job of moving you around during fights. Here it's usually just a big room with cover spots on both sides.

Also the environments went all Unreal Tournament with nonsense underground temples and caves. I liked the ruined earth setting of the first one better. This one is decidedly more sci-fi.

Big ones, with lots of sparkles and two bornze guys wrestling homoeroticaly on top.
href="#c9902639">Nocuous: Any arguement hinged around a correlation between quality and sales is immediately invalidated by the existence of Ms. Britney Spears (and the Wii, yeah I said it!).
@.endejas.: Thank God Little Big Planet sold better in other territories. The US sales were best described as depressing. People just lack creativity.

I was hoping all these game critics would start making levels, you know, put their money where their mouths were, but I gues they've been to busy shooting the same old alien.

@siggy13: Boring, predictable. Gears 2 is BROKEN and has been since launch, without a fix. Just like the last one (in so many other ways too).
@Archaotic: The soundtrack isn't identical. Of course it's dependent on the source material, but in terms of rendering as true to source as possible blu ray outpaces any upscaler handily and obviously.

Higher resolution is better. It's so obvious that it sounds stupid to say.

lol...wow, credibility out the window.
Early reviews were 8's from Eurogamer and Edge magazine, and now the overall metacritic score is 94. Seems late reviews were pretty good. I don't know what your on about, but don't ascribe your own opinion to everyone else. MGS4 is a masterpiece.
I'm starting to get almost resentful of how lame japan's taste in games has become.
I think I recognized one of them. Ronald McDonald.
Even if it ends up being simply Call of Duty in the future with awesome graphics, and enemies that control the weather, it'll be fun.

I hope to hear a bit about co-op and multiplayer plans at E3!

@SG79: Oh yeah...well maybe big boss is a penisless as well and he's a clone of a man with no penis! A HA!
THERE IS NO PENIS. It's a plot point - it's how they determine he's not Raiden when he's in disguise.
