This stuff happens all the time in lots of industries. It sucks, but a lot of times it can be just a relocation. And if people don't want to move, then yeah they lose their jobs. It sucks.
If all these people are hard workers and/or have some talent, I'm sure they'll be ok.
Also, THE USA IS IN A RECESSION! And with the prices of oil, EVERYTHING costs more.
