@Dynosaulo: Way to kiss ass, bro.
I don't read Gizmodo.

I was directed to this article.

I will cotinue to not read it. The idea with writing your feelings down is that you throw it away afterwards, not post it for all your readers. Fucking hell.

@ElephantFace: I love Heavy Rain but it's certainly not without it's flaws. You've highlighted but one. There's also the vague words they put on dialouge options too, which I know many games with a dialog system suffer from, such as Alpha Protocol and Mass Effect..

Also the vague analog stick movements. One particular time, I pushed the analog in a certain direction because I wanted to do something and ended up doing quite the opposite. I can't say without massive spoilers but it was quite the fuck up.
I just wanted to share a story really. Why the hell not, I thought. It's about my brother, who is eight years old. He's a special needs child, with a condition that massively affects his cognitive development. At nine years old, he still has trouble talking, writing, and just about anything else that an eight year old is expected to be able to do by a modern curriculums standards.

Anyway, me and him are mega close, and he's pretty interested in what I do. As you may guess, I play a lot of video games, and so, from a very young age he took an interest in them.

I think the first game he played was Nintendogs. He had trouble understanding it and he couldn't read at all at the time, but I helped him stick at it. Eventually I started moving him on to try harder games. This was years ago so I can't really remember what they were, but he enjoyed them immensely. He still needed tons of help though.

Now, at eight years old, he's as much a gamer as I am. He can play through the majority of Portal without the slightest intervention from me. He has gotten pretty far in Tales of Vesperia. He has built levels on LittleBigPlanet, he completed the original Mario Galaxy on his own and is well on his way to completing the second.

It really warms my heart to know that, despite being so far behind cognitively, he can show how much intelligence he really is capable of from all of these video games that are stimulating his imagination, his creativity and his thought-processing. In his short eight years of life, he has gone through more troubles than I have in my eighteen, and though it seems like a silly thing, I'm incredibly proud of him. It may seem odd that I think that his playing these games means he's growing in intelligence, but if you could see the progress he's made, you'd probably believe it too.

@SeanPS360: Holy shit, you're kidding!?

@digi-boy: The Sims. And nothing would change.

In all seriousness, probably something with a lot of exploration. I can't really pick one. Hmmm. I'll go with Just Cause 2 right now, just because it'd be awesome to do half the shit Rico gets up to.

@Goldwings: Wants pudding: I miss Jak :( This heroes on the move thing, and unwillingness to give us a proper Jak and Daxter game on the ps3 displeases me to no end!
@Archaotic: Heh, perhaps it's just the voice change throwing me off but he just doesn't seem like the old Cole at all, haha.
I'm probably missing something but not only is Cole's old voice actor gone but... Like, he looks completely different too doesn't he? Maybe I'm just remembering things wrong but isn't this a completely new Cole? :/
@spikespeigel: Got to agree that Cole's old voice was far too gruff. If you were a good guy, at least, it really, REALLY didn't fit. If you were an evil electric prick, then sure, it worked.
If I were to guess, I'd say Ebert's the kinda guy who'd appreciate thatgamecompany's sorta games, but hell, he might show up in a month or so and say he tried out Manhunt and loved it or something, aha.
@saulpimpson: @Ebyam Jeep: It was worth a playthrough, but I wasn't captivated with it as I was the first, and I certainly wouldn't replay it again, bearing in mind I replayed the original plenty of times. I just hated the little sister defense parts. So much so that at times I just started harvesting them because I couldn't be bothered to wait around for the girl, even when I wanted to be a good guy really.
My backlog is similar to that.

Persona 4
Yakuza 3
Resonance of Fate
Red Dead Redemption
Demon's Souls
All the telltale games i just bought (tons)
Tales of Vesperia
Tales of Innocence
Peace Walker
Probably forgetting some there.
They were arguably the worst parts of Bioshock 2 for me. Not regretting selling my copy so far.
