I don't understand. All I've ever seen that Bioware's been promising in terms of being revolutionary is STORY. They never claimed to be reinventing the MMO wheel in terms of combat, graphics, or classes. It's the storyline and dialogue that's going to set this game apart. Bash every other facet of a Bioware game to your hearts' content, but they know their stuff when it comes to storyline and writing. And a good storyline is all I need. GW2 can be awesome in terms of gameplay, graphics, and classes, but at the end of the day it's not going to make me care about the characters, the world, or the events. Bioware is capable of doing that, and that's why I'm playing their games.
Pretty sure most judges are smarter than that.
I'm sure no one wants to say this, since everyone on this site loves to bash corporations, but, how about just changing the name? "Scrolls" isn't that great of a name anyway.
Round Robin? Madden 09? What?? Owen, Online Franchise was introduced in Madden 10. It has a regular NFL schedule, and up to 32 users can play a real season, but unlike offline franchise there is a lack of free agency, trades are restricted, no offseason, etc. These are the things that us Madden players have a problem with.
Honorable mention has to go out for the 80s game Rendezvous, I played it as a little kid on the Apple IIE. Not only did it feature a shuttle launch and simulated dock with a space station, it actually taught you about thrust, orbit velocity, what delta V was, and other things that had to do with actual space maneuvering. For a 10 year old NASA junkie, it was quite awesome. Oh yea, and it ran at a blistering 1.5 fps. What's not to love?
A bit off base with the air force comparison. Both the BF-109 and FW-190 were among the best fighters of the war, and were far superior craft to their Soviet counterparts. The real mismatch in the Eastern air theater was the abilities of the IL-2 Sturmovik to wreak absolute havok on German tank and ground units.
Exactly. The whole "devs don't get money from used sales" argument is pointless. They DID get the money from the sale of the game, they got 40 or 60 or whatever from whoever bought it brand new.
It's one of those games that isn't as fun to watch someone play, you really have to play it yourself and use your imagination to get hooked.
It's because of the difference in fighter philosophies between the axis and allies. While both the Germans and the Japanese kept their respective ace pilots in theater for as long as possible, racking up the huge kill counts that you read about today, the downside of this was that most of them eventually got killed.

the USAAF, on the other hand, got into the habit of rotating ace pilots home to train new pilots, improving the entire air force as a whole. Thus, you don't find many of them who score higher than 10 or 20. Also, many, like Yeager, would become test pilots on new aircraft. The leading US ace, Dick Bong, who my grandfather once told me he got to play cards with in Australia, also did this, but tragically died in an accident.
That move he used to freeze all the bug creatures in carbonite, and then set them on fire, was awesome.
Owen, Phil Frazier's had that job for several years now. I can clearly remember him going on the operationsports.com message boards for Maddens 09 and 10. He was great for community feedback, as was Ian Cummings.
I have a 360 and a Wii, and of course as the fates would have it, only SONY is putting effort into doing HD remakes and anthologies.....such a shame.
They killed my n____ NED!
I guess all these people complaining about the "Dark Heal" never played Kotor 2. Darth Sion was essentially kept alive by the pain of the dark side. Clearly, the Sith have healing abilities. They just have a far more sinister nature.
If you think that's all it is, then clearly you don't play it. And that's perfectly okay, but your statement is very ignorant.
Sounds like he just isn't that big of a Star Wars fan. And if not, that's totally fine, but it's going to completely change your outlook on the game. As a SW fanatic I am eating everything up about this game. I'm okay with it being similar to WoW, the entire reason I can't play that game for more than a month is because I can't get any sort of storyline out of it, so I don't care about what's going on and quit. So if you just take all the great MMO gameplay that WoW has and give it a storyline and real characters that talk and interact with you, I may be able to play that for hundreds of hours to get to the cool endgame stuff.
Agreed. I hated 2 and 4, but since 3 was at least somewhat grounded on real events, it was great.
Glad to hear it's being written by someone decent. AC6's story was god awful. Every time I heard "Go dance with the Angels!" I wanted to punch a fetus.
Okay, after watching the Battlefield 3 videos, the MW3 demonstration was very underwhelming. It's clear to me now that DICE, while obviously making a game that's fun to play first and foremost, also gives considerable thought towards military authenticity. MW3 is just more Michael Bay garbage. A Russian sub in the Hudson River? Seriously??? Oh, and we're gonna send DELTA FORCE to go capture it. I guess someone at the Pentagon was thinking,

"Hey guys, we need a commando unit that specializes in:

A) Scuba infiltration
B) Mine laying
C) Commandeering Naval Vessels
D) Knowledge of Soviet sub systems
E) Rapidly escaping on a rubber raft

Well, shucks, I don't think anyone in the Navy knows that stuff. Guess we gotta send the army."
30 Seconds??? But I thought we had 4 minutes to save the world!
