"@bladefist- Any consumption of a natural resource in vast excess to the domestic capacity to produce it is threat to sovereignty. Any government policy that does not address such threats threats is flawed. Since as you stated oil is such an important resource to the domestic economy, and more importantly to military function, our national consumption should be cut to an amount very near our national production."
