...I think you fail to appreciate all that goes into engineering, and see the broader history of where we have come from, to where were at today. Although those presses or whatever are pretty simple, think how hard it would to build one from scratch.
I guess cause its SciFi, and said people that would normally dissect it, well they feel like they are allowed to use their imagination to fill in the gaps in this situation. That's my theory anyway.

If your in that kind of situation, I'd suggest not playing Demons Souls or Dark Souls...because they are both very challenging, IE.. the game borders on masochism. I have yet to beat the second one. (I just said fuck it and gave up)
Xbox360 10 times more powerful than it is today
The 360 came out in 2005 if wiki is not lying. It's now 2011, and I would imagine that the 360 was developed with older tech, so it wouldn't be such a huge leap to see the next machine come out and actually be 10x more powerful would it?
