Korean developer Pentavision has announced that, yes, there isn't just one new DJ Max title coming out, but two. The PSP rhythm title will be released in two different forms: Clazziquai Edition and Black Square. Pentavision is trying to satisfy both casual and hardcore gamers, but Korean website Ruliweb doesn't specify if these each are divided for those purposes or if both editions will feature separate modes for casual and hardcore players. Like DJ Max Fever, these new DJ Max titles have great looking art. More »

Hey, what's hot with the kids right now? Music games, that's what. Particularly the ones where you hit buttons in time with scrolling cues. It's into this receptive market, then, that PM Studios will be publishing DJ Max Fever, with the Korean fave (Fever is a mix of DJ Max Portable and DJ Max 2) due to receive its first ever American release on November 11. If you're a fan of the series, and have been stuck importing it until now, this is good news! If you've never seen nor heard of it, and the idea of Guitar Hero-but-for-DJs-on-a-PSP sounds great, be warned: it's really, really hard. More »

Pentavision, the Korean developer behind DJ Max Portable, has announced it latest title: S4. Unlike their previous titles, this is not a rhythm game, but rather, a third person shooter. The game will come in to incarnations: an online PC game called S4 League and a PSP version called S4 Portable. When asked why Pentavision keeps making PSP games, the producer said they wanted to give something back to the fans who made their PSP rhythm game DJ Max Portable so popular. The new game is based on, and we're quoting the title's producer, "Stylish Shooting Sports." S4 League will focus more on team work, while the PSP incarnation will focus more on the "action game" elements. Characters from DJ Max Portable even make appearances! What's more, many musicians who provided music for DJ Max have created tunes for this game as well. Best part? Supposedly, the game will see a worldwide release. More »

Created by Korea's Pentavision, DJ Max Portable is a rhythm action game for the PSP. A really good rhythm action game that actually has me picking my favorite paperweight, the PSP, up again. Was sent the game yesterday evening and played it for an hour or so before calling it a night. The music is catchy, fantastic. Besides various modes of difficulty, DJ Max Portable also features unlockable tunes and modes. The game and its sequel are smash hits in Korea, but have yet to see a Western release. So, publishers, answer me: Why? More »

It's a crapshoot, really. Some cool games get English localization. Some bad ones get it. Other never do, staying forever out of most Westerner's hands. While tiny percentage of really neat titles already with loads of English never get a US/Euro release. More »
