Virtual Cash Exchange

Virtual money is getting ATM-real. The cash card is being offered by the developers of MMORPG Project Entropia says the BBC. Last year a gamer bought an in-game Project Entropia space resort for $100,000. The game's economy works by letting players exchange real moolah for PEDs (Project Entropia Dollars) and vice-versa with ten PEDs equal to one US dollar. During 2005, $165 million passed through the virtual economy, and the game's founders expect that number to double. Hence, the need for a cash card. Issued by the game's developer MindArk, the card is linked to the player's in-game info and works like a real bank account. IRS, are you listening? Thought so.
