Insanely Fast Button Presser Says Goodbye

Insanely Fast Button Presser Says Goodbye For nearly 30 years, Hudson's human mascot has been Takahashi Meijin, who rose to prominence during the company's heyday. Today, he revealed he's leaving the company.

During the 1980s, Takahashi Meijin, born Toshiyuki Takahashi, gained fame for his ability to press buttons very quickly. His personal high was firing 16 shots per second in Hudson's shooter Star Soldier. Takahashi even taught kids finger exercises to improve their gaming prowess.

Takahashi not only promoted games, he appeared in them, most notably Adventure Island.

In a blog post today, Takahashi revealed that he is leaving the company at the end of this month. Takahashi's post doesn't go into detail why he is resigning, but the famed gaming personality touched on how he's been at Hudson for the past 26 years and apologized for the sudden announcement.
