Some time ago we shared the papercraft wonder that was Leo Firebrand's Fallout 3 homage: the laser pistol. Paper (and some papier-mâché for the gun handle) alone yielded a believable piece of the post-apocalypse. More »

Sure, they don't work, but these cardboard consoles definitely start more conversations. Best part, you don't even need tape or glue. Thicker paper is recommended, as is a nice printer that can handle 150dpi printouts. More »

This is a papercraft model of Nintendo's own late, great Gunpei Yokoi. Considering the amount of papercraft we see that's devoted to Nintendo characters, it's a strangely fitting tribute to the father of the Game & Watch, Game Boy, Metroid and Kid Icarus. Click through for the full, downloadable template, which is courtesy of Raccoon Sam. More »

If you're looking for something to do with your Wednesday night's wee hours, perhaps the pasting together of dozens of pieces of paper to form a DIY Mario cap will do the trick. This is papercraft not for the faint of heart, but one of the rare wearable pieces of video game papercraft that we've seen in our travels on the internet. Should you have the patience to download the PDFs and the printer ink to power through, be sure to tip us with your creation. We'd love to see the soul brave enough to take this project on. More »

Reader Metal Dom found this on 4chan - a 12-inch high, incredibly detailed papercraft model of D0g, from Half Life. 4chan user chamoo232 assembled it, said it took two weeks and nearly 50 hours of work. The pose captures D0g's lumbering, bucket-of-bolts gait and rip-your-arms-off awesomeness. Win. Several more pics at the link, which, I'm aware is 4chan, but /po/ is not at all like /b/, so don't worry about what you'll see.

Oh, hi tubbypaws! You guys remember tubbypaws, right? She's a whiz with the ol' papercraft, able to turn even the most adult and depressing of titles into bright and wonderful dioramas. This is her latest work, and yes, it's GTA IV, complete with cute little paper Niko, cute little paper buildings and cute little train whizzing by on cute little paper tracks. Should bring a much-needed pinch of levity to GTA IV's murder n' drugs-heavy stew. More »

It's been a while since our last papercraft and given the slow post GDC weekend I figured it would be a good time to pull out some cardstock and get our craft on. This week's offering comes from that bastion of papercraftery, Paperkraft.net. The model is of a Mimic chest from Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. These feisty little guys like to disguise themselves as treasure chests and when you go to open them, they launch their attack. This is a fairly simple model for those of you just getting started in the fine art papercraft. For our more experienced crafters, you might try these Chromehound models. More »

You've seen her Silent Hill and Portal papercrafts, now see her Vice City tribute, complete with little square Tommy Vercetti and three cars that he'll never be able to steal thanks to his poor, fat little head. I was impressed and a wee bit jealous last year when I posted about four year old George's Mario themed birthday party but these photos from Ethan's Mario/Video Game themed party have left me longing for the days when I could have a cool themed birthday party without people looking askance. An awesomely decorated cupcake table (above), Mario and Luigi papercraft favors, homemade Boo and Kirby pinatas, Mario and Luigi hats, a Yoshi Egg Hunt and a tastefully and detailed decorated back yard. If only cool stuff like that had been available when we were kids we might have been spared the horrors of party clowns. More »

It's been a while since I posted a good papercraft and this one definitely deserves the spotlight. In honor of the Transformers movie opening next week and the deluge of Transformers games out this week, I present to you the Optimus Prime papercraft model by Paper Robot. Optimus is looking fine in his olde school duds and the best part? He's poseable and actually transforms with the help of some rubber bands! Be warned, this model is complicated and NOT for beginners. Seasoned papercrafters only on this one. And kids, don't forget to have you parents help you cut out the pieces! Flynn De Marco More »

Did everyone have fun making their Toro papercraft the other day? Well, get your scissors and your glue sticks ready because one mondo-big site full of Nintendo paperdolls is coming your way. There are 21 characters in total ranging from Pikmin to Pikachus, sprinkled with a couple of Mario friend favorites like Bowser and Toadstool. If you can't choose which one to make first, you can also download them all in one convenient package and go nuts this weekend. More fun than most things you can do with paper and it's free. Let's get printing! Kim Phu More »

Bored and want to do something with scissors besides just running around your cubicle with them? Then some Toro papercraft just might be up your alley, especially if you have been admiring the figurines from earlier today. The Sony mascot is all ready to be cut up and folded so it can start living a happy new life on your desk, dashboard, or even bedside table. More »

I've pointed to a Link papercraft model before, but it was unfortunately less than stellar and now no longer exists. This version however is pretty sweet. This is the original Chokipeta model of Wind Waker Link and can be downloaded in PDF form and can be downloaded via RapidShare from the link below. For once, I'm actually going to get off my duff and try putting this guy together. I will see how my very un-nimble fingers do on this one and post the end product next weekend regardless of how terrible or great it may be. So tune in next week for the final results! Flynn De Marco More »
