Have you ever just looked at the Super Mario Bros. box art? I mean, really looked at it until it made some sort of sense? Why is Mario leaping over a lake of lava while tossing fireballs at a wall—the same wall, I should mention, that he's actually leaping into? Did the art department screw up? Where they read "wall" were they meant to read "Bowser?" Where they painted blue blocks were they meant to paint green scales? More »

Kotakuite the-hypnotoad toiled for months on this truly incredible 16 bit Samus painting. It is approximately three feet tall and stands watch over his desk. I've seen quite a few pixel paintings in my time and none of them comes even close to this. No decals here folk, that's all hand painted. Amazing work, the-hypnotoad! According to Gamespot's latest Rumor Control based on a Play-Nintendo report, the mysterious Bob Ross painting game planned for release on the Nintendo DS, Wii, and PC, may have hit a snag on the road to store shelves. Until recently under development at AGFRAG Entertainment Group, it appears that Bob Ross Inc. may have pulled either the plug or moved development duties to another resource. More »

This creepy — hell, truly nightmarish — Super Mario Bros. image briefly went up on Imageshack recently, then was just as quickly pulled down for bandwidth usage thanks to the Digg Storm it kicked up. I am posting it again for posterity, as all works of great and terrible genius deserve. I only wish it were more horizontally framed, so as to be suitable for a desktop.
