Well, it's so far (officially) unannounced, but quick mention of Heroes of Ruin and a single piece of artwork from the game appeared on the developer's Facebook page earlier today. That developer would be Orlando-based n-Space. More »

Today, nosy PC gamers discovered that the version of Rockstar Games' Max Payne 2 being sold through Valve's Steam service looked an awful lot like the one released by pirate group Myth. Whoops! Looks like Nintendo of Europe's upcoming summer (and beyond) release schedule doesn't quite line up with Sega's. When Ubisoft UK managing director Rob Cooper told GamesIndustry.biz that "Sony has gone a little bit too complicated, they've over-specced it, the price is too high and they need to go back to the drawing board and start again" in regard to the PSP, a platform he implied was lacking in direction, he didn't mean that Ubi corporate wasn't still a fan of Sony's machine. Back on May 12th, Nintendo decided to skip their weekly Virtual Console update in order to focus on the release of WiiWare. Having posted just about every VC Update since the service began, I decided to post one anyway, asking our readers what games would make up their ideal update. My choices were Soul Blazer for the Super Nintendo and Tiny Toon Adventures for the NES. More »

Kotakuite razmig snapped this rather interesting photo at his local GameStop. In a sign promoting the Nerf DS case, he noticed something a little strange. Right there in the case, nestled among the other games is an R4 cartridge. For those not in the know, the R4 is a popular product that will allow its users to download and play DS games illegally through the use of a Micro SD card. Mind you, the cartridge itself is technically not illegal, but given GameStop's hard stance on this type of thing and Nintendo's recent crackdown on piracy, I'm rather surprised this ad made it through. Having been a graphic designer, I know these things get looked at by a number of people before it goes to print and I would think someone would have caught it. Guess not. More »

We've received a handful of messages from upset gamers today who had their personal e-mails exposed to the hundreds, possibly thousands, of recipients of a customer service update from Activision on Guitar Hero III issues. In just one of the e-mails that was forwarded to us, an impressive 860 recipient e-mail addresses were listed in the mail's 'To' field, ensuring that all who received updates on their replacement discs for the Wii version of Guitar Hero III had access to the e-mail addresses of the rest. More »

We've already proven that the collectible cards for The Eye of Judgment are easily copyable, but some Japanese 2channel message board posters have an even lower tech solution for skirting card security. Allegedly, some DIY PlayStation 3 owners have created their own fake cards without requiring an original scan nor access to special inks, generating them with Photoshop or simply drawing out the basic identifying shapes by hand with a couple of colored felt-tipped markers. More »

Despite supposedly being printed using special inks rendering photocopying impossible, reports are sprouting up around the interwebs of people successfully copying cards from Eye of Judgment on the PlayStation 3 and scanning them into the game with little or no problem. One of our readers sent pictures of a card he printed out from Penny Arcade, which despite some curling and color differences from the other cards seems to be scanning in just fine. The former CEO and chairman of Take-Two pled guilty in February to "first-degree falsification of business records" for backdating stock options in an illegal manner and was ordered to pay a restitution of $7.2 million; in July, two more senior executives pled guilty in connection with the same stock options shenanigans. Take-Two received a "Wells" call from the SEC's enforcement division, notifying them the division will be asking the Commission to file charges. Whoops. More »

During the recent Develop Conference, Relentless Software was giving a PowerPoint presentation from on of their computers. But in the background, lurking on the desktop, was <strike>loads of crazy porn</strike> a document titled "BUZZ-PSP." We can only assume that their PS2 title Buzz is, at minimum, being proposed for the PSP platform. Their trivia game could be a fun title for car trips, bus rides, and all those normal things people do who actually leave the house. Meanwhile, we're staying holed-up in our caves, frantically searching keynote desktops for <strike>Barbie Unicorn Adventure DS</strike> Gears of War mobile. More »

Clips: First Person Wii Injury Caught On Film

Frankly, I'm scared to click on most links on the internet. I find myself frightened that I'll somehow land on some scatalogical fetish web site or I'll be forced to rewatch some vicious beheading and vomit across my laptop. This internet fear has now creeped into my viewing of Wii-centric clips. I've become such a wimp that I get sweaty palms while watching what I'm sure will contain HDTV screen destruction. Fortunately, this amusing clips contains no such electronics snuff. Enjoy with confidence. Michael McWhertor More »

MTV's online game show G-Hole recently spent some time with the Harmonix team talking them about Guitar Hero 2. While the story is kinda of interesting, what really takes the cake is that they inadvertently showed off nearly all of the songs for the upcoming game. More »

Looks like Namco's Ridger Racer 7 is too taxing on the PlayStation 3. We caught this poor floor rep tending to the overheated, bugged out PS3 that shit the bed during the first day of TGS. Yeah, we know this sort of thing happens all the time when you've got unfinished code running on unproven hardware, but we also know that even though you've got a Bravia television and a high end PlayStation 3, your cooling solution is wicked ghetto. More »

We at Kotaku love NeoGAF. Unfortunately, that love is one hundred percent unrequited, which breaks our rumor posting, Wii loving hearts. One of the reasons we love the kids posting at the board formerly known as Gaming-Age Forums is that they find things like this. Ubisoft posted a 2GB RAR file to their public FTP server featuring a ton of artwork and screenshots for games yet to be released—and yet to be announced. <a href="http://kotaku.com/202157/ubisoft-more-like-oopsey+soft-groan" title="Click here to read more about Ubisoft?
