In World of Warcraft a legendary item is a piece of equipment of extreme rarity and power, a virtual status symbol for those that harness its powers. In SteelSeries gaming mouse parlance, legendary means cheaper with fewer buttons. More »

The most terrifying all animal band in history is finally getting the recognition it deserves. The Registry of Historic Gaming locations is adding the site of the original Chuck E. Cheese's to it's list of historic sites. First built in San Jose, California in 1977, Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre was the first family restaraunt to combine food, animatronics and an indoor arcade. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5824397/original-chuck-e-cheese-added-to-registry-of-historic-gaming-locations" title="Click here to read more about Original Chuck E. SteelSeries doesn't screw around when it comes to making computer gaming peripherals. At BlizzCon 2008 this past weekend they unveiled a World of Warcraft branded gaming mouse that could very well be the most feature-packed pointing device I've ever laid my hands on. The World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse packs an impressive 15 fully programmable buttons across its stylish surface, which can be modified to glow in any of 16 million colors with varying intensities. The software for the device is styled after the WoW interface, allowing for up to 10 different profiles for your different characters, even importing your character information directly from the WoW Armory to make things all convenient-like.

It seems like it would be a bit over-complicated for the average user, but Steel Series assured me that even a novice computer user will be able to easily configure the mouse to suit their particular play style, with over 130 predefined game commands included for easy drag-and-drop macro creation. More »

Hey girls! Are you tired of using the same computer peripherals we large, sweaty, boorish men do, but still crave the highest quality gaming gear when you are out spreading girl power to the unwashed masses? Well WOLFKING (What, not WOLFQUEEN?) has got something special for you! They're taking their WARRIOR circular keyboard and TROOPER laser mouse and completely redesigned them from the ground up as part of their new Girl Gamer Gear line, to be available exclusively through Dell!
"Female gamers have an incredibly high set of standards when it comes to quality as well as design," said Bob Costlow, director of sales, WOLFKING. "You can't just paint something pink and say it's for girls. The Girl Gamer products give women access to fully functioning, hardcore gaming devices, but with an aesthetic touch."
Changes include adding special pink coloring to the devices. More »

Microsoft is playing around with the idea of creating a new 360 controller that is more precise for playing shooters, Shack News reports. Speaking at Gamefest in Seattle, Msoft hardware manager Robert S.

Every gamer who's mediocre at shooters — myself included — dreams that they could dominate every public server if only they had the right mouse and keyboard. It can't possibly be that I have the reflexes of a three-toed sloth who lost one of his toes in a power-tool accident. It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm playing against fifteen-year-olds who only stop gaming to empty the bottle. No, it has to be the mouse. That's why the wares offered by GW Systems caught my eye. They sell the RTR-720, a mouse that looks like a cross between a jellyfish and a vegetable scrubber, but in my quest to frag I'm willing to give anything a try. Four buttons adorn the top of this small circular mouse and three buttons are built into the sides. The rep told me to gently flick it with my fingertips, and my attempts to do so exacerbated my ham-handedness rather than masking it. Still, someone more hardcore than me might find it a perfect partner to their supernatural fingertip dexterity. More »

Using only a computer mouse, some duct tape and a vintage Nintendo Entertainment System lightgun, Brandon Morgado has hacked together a way to control his PC by aiming at the screen and shooting. More »

$50 Game Commander Mouse

I've never really been much of a mouse snob when it comes to PC gaming. But there's obviously a market for tunable mice. The latest to hit the market comes from Elecom Corporation in Japan. The Game Commander is said to be light weight, ergonomically designed and can be switched between 800 dpi and 1,600 dpi on the fly. I like the look of the thing, but you can never tell with a new mouse design until you play with it for a few days. At $50 it's probably worth checking out. More »

Hexus Gaming has a review up of Fatal1ty's new gaming mouse. The thing that sorta separates this one from the pack is that it features four buttons. It also has a max DPI of 1600 and a weighted core that you can switch out to suit your gaming needs. Four buttons? What the hell am I supposed to do with my pinkie? I need five buttons man, five! More »

Part Time Gamer posted a quickie review on the retro Goomba mouse. It's a roller that works on both PC and Mac (contrary to what the box says). "I'm really tempted to get the Mario mouse, both to have the complete collection and also to get a mouse that feels better," writes the Part Time Gamer. That, and think of the endless fun you could have making Mario mouse pounce on Goomba mouse. Non-stop Nintendo hilarity. More »

When my kill-to-death first-person shooter ratio starts slipping from the barely excusable into the sucks-ass red zone I've always had my faithful mouse to blame. But I've got to start searching for another excuse now that the Razer Copperhead is prepping for release. This mouse features a 2,000 dpi laser, adjustable weight and 32kb of memory for storying user profiles. The laser samples at an astounding 1000mhz with a 1ms response time, which is about nine times faster than most mice. It also features nine retina burning blue LEDS
wait a second, I think I just found my new excuse: My friggin mouse just bling blinded me. More »
