There are new Tomb Raider movies coming, which means a new cinematic Lara Croft. And while Camilla Luddington did a fantastic job in the last two games, the big screen role has gone to Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander.
Vikander (who I loved in Man From U.N.C.L.E.) is going to be playing a similar Croft to that seen in 2013's Tomb Raider reboot, in that this movie is going to be a prequel, showing what Nerdist says is “Lara Croft as a yet-untested raider embarking on her first adventure.”
Roar Uthaug (The Wave) will be directing.
