Hey, it's a fighting game update that you don't have to pay for! From Capcom, no less! For those who purchased Capcom's updated worlds-collide fighting game, the publisher's adding a whole new mode to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, free of charge. Heroes and Heralds adds a collectible card game system to UMvC3 that tweaks character attributes to add abilities like, say, projectile invincibility. Players will also be able to form clans as well for online battles. There are over 100 cards in H&H mode so, if you choose to participate in the add-on, you'll find a ton of variations. Maybe Capcom, for once, realizes this. That's the best possible explanation as to why they've unveiled the entire DLC roster for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the next few months. You'll be able to purchase a change of clothes for the game's characters starting next week with the Rising Dead pack. It's out on November 22 for $4.00 (PS3) or 320 points (XBL). From then on, costume packs roll out every two weeks at the same price. Additionally, all 48 outfits will be available in a $20 value pack on March 6th, 2012. One might ask, does Capcom really need to revisit the work of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which came out in February, in the form of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, due out next month? Capcom special consultant Seth Killian justifies the new title by saying that the development team's gone back under the hood and re-balanced all of the characters, so that it is essentially like an all-new game. Most fans know that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be adding twelve new characters to the roster, including fan-favorites like Strider Hryu on the Capcom side and Hawkeye on the Marvel side. Capcom revealed that all the game's characters will also be playable in up to six alternate looks for each. So with Spider-Man, the alternats will be Spider-Armor 2.0, Big Time from the Dan Slott storylines, and the mostly white FF Spidey from Jonathan Hickman's series. (No Miles Morales?!) The biggest applause in the panels that Capcom held for their upcoming fighting games came for the introduction of the blue-suited hero of the Ace Attorney games. During the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 panel, special consultant and fighting game expert Seth Killian talked about how the development team tried to make the unlikely placement of the barrister into a brawling game.
