Heavily scripted shooters that take place in glorified corridors are well and good for most, but some people like to kill things out in the open, and kill them with a single bullet. 2D Boy celebrated the World of Goo's birthday by allowing folks to pay whatever price they wanted for the PC version of the game, from a penny on up. Let's see how that worked out. More »

The PS3 Slim is a good news story for Sony, as its cheaper price will allow the console to be more competitive in a market where it's currently sitting dead last. But it's not all good news. More »

MacOS and Linux's install base is dwarfed by Windows, so in terms of which platform to develop for, that ends the argument right there. Right? It's Penny Arcade Adventures news week! Yesterday we learned that On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode One would be hitting the PlayStation 3 this week, and now Hothead announces that the Linux, Mac, PC, and Xbox Live Arcade versions of Episode 2 will be coming out next week! On Wednesday, October 29th, fans of the first game will be able to continue their adventure, with new difficulty settings, longer gameplay, and a cool-ass ending track from Canadian rock band The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets in "Some Things Man Was Not Meant To Know", which they recently performed live at PAX 2008. More »
