Rumors have been swirling about an expanded superhero cast in the follow-up to 2008's Lego Batman, with the Amazing Amazon and the Man of Steel reportedly joining the toy-riffic version of the Dark Knight. Ads inside of new Lego toys appear to confirm that, according to MCVUK. Lego's launching a new Super Heroes line with characters from both Marvel and DC, and inserts in the boxes of these new toys tease a sequel to Lego Batman. With Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman pictured in these inserts, it's probable that villains like Lex Luthor, Sinestro and maybe Cheetah may show up to bedevil the Lego do-gooders when LB2 shows up. Where would Batman be without his trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth? Dead a hundred times over I'd say. Alfred is the human side of Batman, stitching him up when injured, reminding him of his limits, and doing his best to keep his employer grounded when extraordinary situations push him close to the edge - though we probably won't see any of that in Lego Batman. If we're lucky he might hit somebody with his serving platter, which in my opinion is just as good. More »

Sporting dual pistols to go with his dual personality, he joins the Riddler in the prestigious ranks of Batman enemies who more often than not let their own psychoses get them caught. There was no question in my mind that the Riddler would eventually show up in the cast of the forthcoming Lego Batman game. It was really just a matter of when. Teaser trailers for games seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Take, for example, the Lego Batman trailer just posted on Yahoo. It features 15 second of what looks to be CGI footage of Lego Batman and that's about it. Still, if the game is half as fun as Lego Star Wars I'm sure it will be a good time. Will we get to see Lego Robin as well? To see the trailer you'll have to click through to Yahoo, as it looks like they don't have a way to embed video with their less-than-stellar video player.
