How many launches can one game have? Ace Online first saw life in North America as Space Cowboy Online back in 2006, only to be shut down last year to to license reshuffling. Now Ace Online lives again, and while just about anyone could have been playing the free-to-play MMO for quite some time now, but as with any F-T-P online game, it isn't truly launched until the Item Mall opens, and open it has. Just a scant hour ago I made the trek down to the Powell Street GameStop to take in the midnight launch of Metal Gear Solid 4. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a line that went halfway down the block and around the corner. Roughly seventy five to a hundred and people waited patiently for the doors to open so they could once again get their hands on their beloved Solid Snake. First in line was lucky Kiattikhun Ratanatharathorn, known as "Bank" to his friends (pictured after the jump) who had been waiting for his prize since 6pm. He was accompanied by his friend James Demonico who wasn't actually there for the game but he owed "Bank" money so he came along for the ride (now I guess we know why they call him "Bank"). More »

While we all know when we can expect Spore (psst, that's Sept 7th in the US and Sept 5th in Europe), apparently fans will get a small taste of the game before the full retail version ships. A separate, creature-editor edition Spore SKU will be out before the full version. Pricing and exact dates are not known, but the creatures made in this program will be usable in the full retail version to come. We'd hope that it would be free, but the last time we assumed anything someone made a really bad "ass" pun. More »

People seem to really love Ben 10. The Cartoon Network show crosses the lines between kids and adults and when I saw the game demoed at Comic-Con, both sets of ages were there, enjoying the game with equal abandon. I tried it out myself and even though I wasn't terribly familiar with the show, the game was pretty fun. With the game's launch not far off, D3 Publishers has premiered the game's website which is now open and ready for your rather stringent approval. I'm sure you'll have plenty to say about it. More »
