So the big blowup this week concerned Blizzard's unilateral, and unilaterally rescinded, attempt to de-anonymize its forums in Battle.net. That led me to wonder, what if we were the ones playing under real names, but video game characters were anonymous?
While I don't have a definite source image for you to work with (the one above is just a generic illustration here).I think you can see the spirit of the contest. Because it's a challenge to make someone both anonymous and recognizable. Or, go in the other direction and finally reveal the face beneath a mask. Like Shyguy.
Context will count for a ton; so will picking iconic screenshots, or at least ones with very familiar surroundings. This is an open-ended challenge, but you can't expect me to spoonfeed you everything. There's scads of stuff out there. So get to it; we'll star and promote as much as is deserved, and round up the 20 best in next week's gallery.
