Just returned from my local Gamestop, where the store manager informed me that their Wii demo station would be arriving tomorrow afternoon, sans the Wiimote, which would be hand delivered early next week by their regional Nintendo rep. On March 23rd, the Xbox 360 finally launches in idyllic New Zealand. To promote the event, a custom metallic bus is bringing 360 goodness to all Kiwis. Inside the bus, there are playable demos of Project Gotham Racing 3, Fight Night Round 3, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Call of Duty 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo: Elements of Power and Amped 3. Remember those customized Xbox 360 Holdens? The cars have been cruising around Down Under, promoting the MSoft console's upcoming March 23rd launch. We just got an anonymous tip, saying that there could be Xbox 360 kiosks at GameStop stores tomorrow (yippie!) or as late as November 22nd (crud). The roll-out will apparently begin on both the West and East Coasts, and it will then work it's way toward the center of the U.S. More »

Just got an email from a retail manager who confirms that the Xbox 360 kiosks are coming towards the end of October. His company (he declined to name it, but I m guessing EB or Gamestop) is going to be doing a test role out first and if they did well there would be a larger roll out. The idea will be to have retail content available for upload on memory units at the kiosks as well (like dashboard skins, gamer icons, backgrounds and such) in the hope that people will pick up a memory unit while they are in the store to use the feature.
