This is shocking. So so shocking. It's so shocking and TOTALLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK that we're putting the gallery after the jump, and the pics in the gallery have been censored by the site that originally posted them. Well, it's not that shocking, but it's certainly NSFW! Japanese figure-centric site Moeyo.com has a review of SEGA Prize Dead or Alive Kasumi figure designed by figurine sculptor Shunya Yamashita. Moeyo takes the regular Kasumi figurine and removes her plastic clothes. For those who have never seen a Moeyo review, be warned. They embarrass her. Horribly.

Sure, the hair, the face and the jubblies look okay, but it's the little things that can make or break. Hands are usually a dead giveaway. If you want to see if an artist is any good, check the hands. In Japan, Dead or Alive's Kasumi is nothing sort of an icon. And popularity like that has led to pricey Kasumi figurines and the ensuing cheap knock-offs. With the market flooded, shops have posted comparison pics to help otaku i.d. the imitations. Last summer, a painted PVC Kasumi figurine went on sale for a whopping 8,190 yen (that's about $77 US) and were snapped up by serious collectors. A huge shipment went on sale recently at Toranoana in Den-Den Town for a measely 2,000 yen a piece. Does that mean Kasumi has lost her vexing hold over Japanese otaku? Meh, probably not.
