Variety's The Cut Scene reports that Hollywood based publisher Brash Entertainment, which in its own words is "laser focused on high quality theatrical based" video games for every platform, has lost its president. Founder Nicholas Longano is said to have exited the company after just a year in business. As The Cut Scene points out, its two completed projects—Alvin & the Chipmunks and Jumper—were critically slammed, each averaging a dreadful 30 on Metacritic. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5010632/brash-entertainment-loses-a-president" title="Click here to read more about Brash Entertainment "Loses" A President">More »

Nice little collection of titles coming out this week. My money is on Professor Layton although Lost Odyssey seems rather intriguing. On the PC side of things, the new episode of Sam and Max is on its way as well as a new version of RPG Maker. What will be taking money out of your wallet this week? More »

While I am definitely looking forward to Doug Liman's Jumper movie based off of the David Gould science fiction novel, I was a little iffy on the upcoming game for the PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360. It is a movie license after all, and while the spontaneously teleporting idea seems like an awesome game mechanic, it also seemed awesome in the relatively disappointing X-Men 2 movie video game, and that made me sad. Then I saw this trailer, and I am seeing a tiny glimmer of hope. A video game that pits Samuel L. Jackson against a motherfuckin' polar bear? What could possibly go wrong? I'm sure we'll find out come February. More »

Bourne Identity director Doug Liman's latest film, Jumper, is due out in February of 2008, and Brash Entertainment plans to have the movie game arriving by its side. Based off of the 1992 science fiction novel by Steven Gould, the movie tells the story of David Rice, a young man who discovers that he is a 'Jumper', a person with the ability to instantaneously teleport anywhere on Earth. Starring Hayden Christensen (oh boy) as David and featuring Samuel L. Jackson as the leader of the Paladin organization that has warred with the Jumpers for thousands of years, it certainly has the makings of a blockbuster action flick. As for the game itself? We'll wait and see how Brash does with that one when it comes out next year for the PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360. More »
