According to film site Latino Review, early casting rumors are putting 7th Heaven and Stealth star Jessica Biel in the lead to play Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter film adaptation. The movie, scheduled to appear in 2008 from Capcom and Hyde Park Entertainment, will focus on series mainstay Chun-Li and not Colonel William F. Guile like the previous Van Damme vehicle.
While there's little doubt that Jessica Biel can fill the tights of Chun-Li from a fitness standpoint, she's kind of lacking in the Chinese heritage department. And, although I think many of us would welcome Biel's attempts at acheiving Li-style thigh definition, I really hope producers do the right thing and cast a Chinese actor in the role, making this rumor just that, a rumor.
How about Cammy? Or Blanka? The furries would eat that shit up.
