Apple Introduces The iPad

Apple Introduces The iPad Apple finally unveils the iPad, a touch-screen tablet device that promises to be better at gaming than any laptop or smartphone.

As expected, the iPad looks very much like a larger version of the iPhone or iPod Touch, though the screen has dimensions similar to a piece of paper, rather than maintaining the widescreen aspect ratio of the smaller product.

During his keynote, Apple's Steve Job's explained that the device is something between an iPhone and a laptop computer, with it's slim form factor and touch screen making the iPad "much more intimate than a laptop."

Jobs said that in order to successfully bridge the gap between smartphone and laptop, the device would need to be better than those devices at performing tasks like surfing the web, emailing, looking at photos, watching videos, and yes, gaming.

More details as they come.
