Gundam meets Dynasty Warriors mash-up Gundam Musou did pretty good on the PS3 and so-so on the Xbox 360 as Gundam Musou International (or "Dynasty Warriors: Gundam in America). So why release it on the PS2! That's right, Bandai Namco Games is bringing the title to the PlayStation 2 late this February. Dubbed Gundam Musou Special, it'll have a new scenario and mobile suits. No word on a Western release, but something tells me they'll dub it Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Special. Call it a hunch. More »

It's about time! According to Enterbrain, Sony's PLAYSTATION 3 has finally sold over a million units. Going on sale this past November, the console clocked in at 1,010,492 units sold as of July 15th. The top selling game is Gundam Musou at 280,000 units sold, followed by Ridge Racer 7 at 140,000 and Gundam Target in Sight at 138,000. Take a culture institution like Gundam and sprinkle the hugely popular Dynasty Warriors. What do you get? Over a 100,000 copies of Gundam Musou sold. That makes the game the first PS3 title to sell over 100k on its first day according to the Game Tsutaya Blog. What's more, Japanese blog Shinobi no Enmachou reports that the game sold about 70 percent of its 170,000-180,000 launch day shipments, making it the 3rd ranked PS3 in overall sales — Ridge Racer 7 is number one at 130,000 total sales and Gundam: Target In Sight is close behind at 120,000. For those still with the bad taste of Gundam: Crossfire for the PS3 in their mouths, guess what? There's another PS3 Gundam game on the way. And after that, there will be another and another and another after that! The console's first effort was shoddy— Insert Credit's Ollie calls it one of the worse Gundam games ever made. But! Fret not! Bandai Namco look like they've got something interesting in store. Next year, the 3D Gundam Musou will hit the PS3. In short, it's literally Koei's San Goku Musou (Dynasty Warriors in the West) for Gundam.
