What is the number one problem with cellphone gaming? If you answered "the cellphone," you'd be wrong. If you answered "the cellphone's keyboard," you just might want to plan a purchase today. The ZeeMote is essentially a Bluetooth joystick, a nunchuk-like peripheral for your mobile devices. We're highly interested in both the ZeeMote more peripherals for cellphone gaming. And as soon as those peripherals include completely integrated PSP and DS controls, screens and libraries, we'll be happy little cellphone gamers. The ZeeMote is currently priceless and due out next year.

Priceless, indeed.
I like that man's QC shirt.
I don't use my cell phone, therefore I don't use my cell phone to game.
I agree with the "As soon as the peripherals are stand-alone and no longer need the cellphone at all" message.
Well, at least they're honest about ripping off the nunchuck.
But, nobody's going to play two player games on thier cell phone like that. I'd like to keep from going blind, thank you.
Thats just corny..... My goodness. I mean, I've played a few games on a cell phone before, but I would never really wanna sit down and do this.
I make games for cell phone and I see this as an interesting device, the down fall I see is that developers will still design games for people that don't have this ZeeMote, so that makes it kind of pointless. It's a fancy phone add on that most people probably won't pick up.
Too bad, it looks really cool.
Sorry but I use my cellphone to well, make calls and mail.
I use my game consoles to you know play games and stuff.
Brilliant. Now they need to make a standart feature in cellphones.
"Nintendo showed what a difference the right input method can make to gameplay"
True enough, but Nintendo also showed that we don't need a cell phone for portable gaming with the GameBoy (DS). Seems they used a bad example.
Is there really a middle-ground who are enough into gaming to buy a controller for their cell phone, but not so much that they don't already have a GameBoy (DS)? (or PSP, Gamegear ect., just trying to stick to the Nintendo example)
Looks so much like a copy of Wii commercials... that well, are just awful. Happy people faking they are playing it and enjoying the game.
Not that Wii games sucks, but the ads are horrible with those hip young actors acting all goofy.
Problem with cellphone games is: at least to me, they are just something you'll play only if you have no other option. Like in situations when you only took your wallet and cellphone out.
If you are interested enough to play games with a joystick, it's a far better option to get a portable... like Nintendo DS or PSP.
I mean, Fireworks + Zeemote? Gameplay would be too limited (cellphone processor speed are usually poor), and you'd still depend on people developing games that uses the Zeemote.
That + tiny screen = no.
@Witzbold: Witz, I have read your comment, and well:
Mind status-Blown :)
Looks really damn comfortable, but maybe not as practical..
I doubt people would play multiplayer games on their cellphones and I doubt people would want to carry that little joystick around just for those rare few uses a day.
It would be pretty awesome if they had pong! I can just imagine it now with two people playing pong on a cellphone
they seem a bit too happy to be playing a cell phone game. especially as far away as they are from the small screen
AND THE ZEEMOTE "withfireworks"
i LOL'd he says the last part quiter and faster than the first bit... nottisable so
About as much fun as being hunched over and squinting, only now you can be hunched over and squint with a friend and pretend it's fun.
Cause I can totally see two grown men huddled shoulder to shoulder together squinting at a 3.5" screen to play 2-player XBLA quality games while on the go.
Wait, no I can't. This may have some applications, but that ain't it.
Wait... is that video for real? While watching it I was sure it was a bad joke....
Kotaku has bloggers like Bashcraft living in Japan...
...haven't you guys had cel phones with motion sensing for quite a while now?
I'll buy a million of them if they keep releasing commercials with that theme music. ROCK THE FUCK ON WEATHER CHANNEL JAZZ
Seeing those two excitedly go at it as they played a game on their cell-phone... you just know where that date is ending. ;-)
@fuchikoma: Yes we have had them for a while, and the only cool game Ive seen that uses the motion sensing was the House of the Dead game. That was pretty interesting stuff.
I like how those dudes are playing on that tiny screen, when they most likely have a full sized TV directly in front of them.
yeah... but it's a phone.
the more like a console the phone becomes, the more people might as well just get a console. there may be phones with better games than before, but there will always still be consoles with better games than phones.
Mobile "gaming" more like mobile "shit on fire"
lol lawsuits.
@Witzbold: Care to elaborate on that? Relevant to my interests. Both zombies and cell phone games.
i would just play my DS or PSP when i want mobile gaming.
So basically they just ripped off Nintendo's nunchuk controller and decided to make one for cellphones? Lame.
