PACHTER WATCH: Pachter Ponders Summer PS3 Price Cut

PACHTER!!!!Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter thinks that maybe, just maybe, Sony could possibly drop the price of the PLAYSTATION 3 this summer. Possibly, not definitely. There's a chance, is what he's saying.

Pachter may potentially be referring to the reduced cost of blue laser pick up heads when he told GamesIndustry that "It is possible that Sony's cost of production for the PS3 has declined to the point that the company may consider a hardware price cut some time this summer." It's possible. They may. Some time.

I'm on the fence here, but I'm not a trained professional analyst. Sure, Sony could kick the price down by August and Pachter would score a point in the price drop prediction game we're all competing in, but Sony would continue to bleed cash like a stuck pig, one whose circulatory system is filled with liquid yen. If Bloomberg's right, Sony's going to be posting a record loss tonight and this will only hurt more.
