The free demo features one- and two-player modes, but no online play via Xbox Live. The demo is available to both Silver and Gold subscribers—as long as you have a broadband connection to the service, you can download the demo to your hard drive and check it out.

This one's getting a lot of flack because you can't heal yourself by spending a few minutes in the back seat of a Chevy Impala with a hooker, then beating the cash back out of her with a shovel. But it's a pretty swell game, well worth a free demo look. Florian Eckhardt
