Luke Smith over at 1UP sent us word that the Dead Rising demo is now up on the Marketplace. He then threw sawdust all over what can only be described as our bukkake shower of enthusiasm by saying, "It's dog vomit. Do not believe the hype." Ashcraft heard him and, sitting in an expanding puddle of his own evacuations, began weeping. And while Luke and I don't quite see eye to eye on many things, including whether or not Dead Rising sucks, there is at least one front on which we are united: beating the crap out of Ashcraft any time he displays a weakness, ostensibly to "toughen him up", but really just because Ashcraft crying is funny and we want to extend the hilarity as long as we can.

But while Ashcraft may very well be fetally curled at this very moment, staunching bloody tears with a scrap of his childhood blankie, and while Dead Rising's overall crumminess may be up in the air, that doesn't change the fact that the demo is indeed available on XBLA. It's short — only 15 minutes — but it has zombies in it. And we really have to give kudos to Capcom for releasing a demo when it actually does some good: before the game is actually released.
