Xbox Targets Eastern Europe

While the Xbox 360 is rocking living rooms in the US and Europe, the console hasn't hit a good chunk of the globe. Microsoft is planning to change that by making their next-gen system by making it available in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South Africa.

The machine will be available at specialist and mainstream sellers by 2008 says European Xbox boss Chris Lewis. Good news for a number of gamers left out in the cold by the America-Europe-Japan centric gaming industry. MSoft views The Middle East, Eastern Europe and South Africa as key areas for the company to come out on top post-PS3. Moreover, each territory will get localized Xbox Live with support.

While gamers in the US bitch and moan about not getting games as fast as the Japanese and while the Europeans get shafted to third in line, folks in these mentioned places have to wait another two years before they can walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360. Around that same time Americans should be able to get PS3s at Best Buy.
