With less than three weeks until we hit Xbox 360 D-Day, the reports of shortages, surpluses, in coming shipments and pre-orders are rolling in. Instead of posting a slew of items about the 360 launch day word on the street, I'll just summarize here with the top emails we've received. These are all quoted direct from emails and come from unverified sources, so take the gossip-mongering with a vomit-inducing grain of salt.

Best Buy
Store 187 in San Francisco started taking pre-orders for 36o. They have not advertised yet so there is a bunch available.

GameStop
1. I just heard from my manager that there is a GameStop pretty close to ours that is only getting 5 systems in.

2. We received our official 360 launch day allocations today - 30
Xbox 360 units and 2 Core units, against a total of 15 guaranteed
reservations and about 65 non-guaranteed. Weel;y shipments through the holidays are promised. This ties in with other reports I have heard of Microsoft's strategy to siphon the consoles out slowly instead of having one massive sell-off on 11-22 followed by weeks of nothing being available.

3. I just got back from my local Gamestop, which is the highest revenue producing gamestop in Atlanta, GA the manager informed me that they are only getting in 36 Premium 360's and 2 core. They have over 200 pre-orders. I placed my pre-order back on June 9th with a promise from the manager that I would get one no matter what. I spend roughly $2000 a year in the store so the manager actually knows my name. Anyway she said that I will most likely not be getting a 360 on the 22nd. The positive note to all this is that I had a contingency plan. I pre-ordered a bundle online the day the bundles went on sale. Hopefully I will get one of those.

MS has really pissed off there die hard customer on this one.
