On Tuesday at 5 am PST, Blizzard took down the realms for its blockbuster MMORPG World of Warcraft. The plan was to get them back up and running at 11 am. Two hours later, reports game blog Suicide Club, the game came online for approximately 15 minutes before servers everywhere dropped, just as everyone was logging in to put the new 1.10 patch through. What caused this? Many point fingers at Blizzards new servers that the company installed to bring up lag time. Blizzard posted the following message:
We've run into some issues with bringing up the realms. We hope to have them live as soon as possible, but we don't have a current ETA to provide at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we'll provide an update as soon as possible.Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Obviously, WoW players began to get a little antsy, but during the evening, realms started to make their way back online. Ah, the joys of PC gaming.
