You might want to hit the mute button and take off your thinking caps before watching, as this footage of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade, violates many rules of taste and grammar. Still, if you're looking for a very private tour of the forthcoming landscape and a look at new mounts, beasts and more, look no further.

I think that video just raped my brain.
Pirates of the Caribbean music? Blocky bikini girl with a tail? Someone gouge out my eyes and lop off my ears.
One of the biggest turn offs I found with the original was the depressingly drab scenery. It makes perfect sense in Outland considering the current situation of that world, but doesn't everyone else feel better about endless grinding in a sunny environment? I would have thought the idea was silly before I played, but after days upon days of play time, the darkness started to bother me. I hope that not all the new areas look as bleak as the ones in this video.
Well, at least it isn't nu-metal.
Right?
Ugh, that was terrible.
I got to "You're flying mount" and wept tears of blood, which, upon hitting the ground, sprouted wailing trees of pain and suffering and a million flies flew from their collective mouths, creating a cacophony of horrible screams and incessant buzzing to mourn the English language.
I quit WOW under the excuse that I would be back for the expansion. The game had lost its edge and had become a lousy grind to get the insane mats (materials) to fuel my guild's raids. Even the raids began to lose their edge. Sure being a part of a 40 or 20 man team can be fun for a while due to the shear scale of the thing. But it was eventually the repetition of it all that caused me to lose interest. Add to that guild politics and the drama that that brings and you have the formula for where your mmorpg experience goes bad.
Looking at this video (just looking, i will not sacrifice my speakers on the alter of bad techno) I now realize that even though the added content will be nice (in addition to the tweaked raid experience), I cant imagine how much will have actually changed if I decided to go back. Flying mounts look kinda cool. But looking at what I assume is outland, it really just looks like a spruced up blasted lands.
I wish Blizzard the best with WOW, but I wish they could just get off their fannies and give me Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3. Now there are some games I'd like to sink my teeth into.
I think the concept art looked far more epic. At this point, however, Blizzard could $% in a box and it would make no difference. They're still guaranteed to make a mint.
Ah, what goodbadorugly said...
He said what I was thinking to the tee
And one other thing, is it just me or did that male Draenei looking thing at the end with all the other NPC models strut like John Travolta?
I have always hated WoW's look and style. This just 100% confirms it. But if Blizzard made World of Diablo (based on the look and feel of Diablo 1), look out. My promise to swear off MMO's in all shapes and form my go out the window.
Okay, am I the only person wanting to know how the fornication he's got a private server based on BC?
Ooooh, that Draenei at the end is Velen, the Draenei racial leader. There's been concept art of him around, but I hadn't seen the actual in-game model until now. Rockin'.
Cool.
Johan,
Google "wow private server". and your question will be answered.
looks nice
And after people rape the content in less than a month, bored they will be!
That looks amazing. The mushroom lands are magnificent, I'm deffinatly getting this expansion. I can't wait to try all that stuff out.
It looks nice but I always find that so much is lost from the concept art to the game. I *Love* the Warcraft setting and art. But it's just...kinda bleh when actually playing.
Removed already?
Sorry, Blizzard called and asked us to take it down.
