WoW 1.12 - Thrilling New Patch Notes

Even as the repercussions of the latest patch spread across WoW accounts like flesh-eating alien fungus (widespread pseudo-lagspikes, problems logging in, getting booted, plagues of boils), Blizzard is tantalizing us with 1.12.

The new patch seems to focus on PvP, hallelujah, and will address both Battlegrounds and World PvP. Blizzard is all about making things global these days, and hot on the heels of the irritating but effective server-wide Looking For Group channel are the cross-realm battlegrounds.

According to Computer and Video Games, several servers will be liked into "one huge matchmaking pool", which presumably will consolidate the often sparse queues, and funnel them into joint Warsong Gulches, Arathi Basins and Alterac Valleys.

This is exciting for those of us that play on a shitty little low-pop PvP server. My extremely popular series of young adult fiction novels, "I Told You I Was Hardcore", was written entirely during battleground queue waits.

Also on the docket is World PvP revisions, which are a little more vague. Computer and Video Games is hinting at "a brand-new type of PvP content to the game. The stage is set for intense, objective-based land battles as Horde and Alliance vie for control over important strategic positions and resources around Azeroth."

World PvP that actually means something in the grand scheme? Jesus christ bananas.

The Rogues are also up for a talent review. Gank while you can, monkey boy!
