Blizzard is apparently banning people from publicizing guilds that are gay and lesbian friendly. The company warned a player by email that she couldn't advertise her gay-friendly guild because it violated its harassment policy, according to In Newsweekly. Believing the company mistook her intentions, the player, Sara Andrews, wrote Blizzard back saying she wasn't insulting anybody. Blizzard replied that her actions could incite others to harass players who otherwise wouldn't be harassed.
In other words, stay in the damn closet. Very enlightened, Blizzard.
We couldn't reach anybody at the company over the weekend, but we would be glad to post Blizzard's response or policy clarification.
