It was like a mini version of the Wii launch this weekend as people lined up at their local stores for what might be their last chance to pick up a Wii before Christmas. The story that most retail establishments would be receiving a new and probably final shipment of Wii's and PS3's this weekend sent people scurrying out to the stores for a chance to get their hands on the goods.
A stroll by my local Best Buy revealed no Wii's and a quick chat with my friendly Best Buy employee told me that they had only received about 13-15 Wii units and no PS3s. He went on to say there was a line for them when they opened at 8am and they were all gone by 8:15. I asked if any of them had waited overnight and he said he wasn't positive, but was pretty sure at least a few of the front-of-line standees had gotten there fairly early.
