After being recently sworn into office as NoA president, Reggie Fils-Aime was kind enough to make his first order of business an explanation of the mysterious Wii flap, which we once described as opening up to reveal "mystery sphincter below the warm, sweet slit into which you slide your Wii."
Speaking to US mag Game Informer, Reggie divulged exactly what the Wii's flap was for: "That is where an SD card goes," he said. "That's storable media. And on top are the attachments for the GameCube controllers." According to Reggie though, you won't be limited to just saving Wii content on SD cards: "It will be one of the memory mediums, and it's the only one that we've announced".
Rather disappointing that the electronic occulus in question is a Gamecube controller port and not a HAL-9000-like glowing eye, but our curiosity — for now — is abated.
