Sure, it may be difficult to find a Wii on store shelves now, but just wait until 2009. Things should calm down by then, with supply catching up to demand. Wait. 2009? With a NINE? That's when IDC analyst Billy Pidgeon told Home Media Magazine he expects Nintendo to fulfill demand in a recent report on Q1 videogame sales.
With PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware demand "stagnant" and Wii supply still lean, Pidgeon pegs Wii, DS, PSP, PS2 and PC software sales to fill in the holes.
We know that Wiis are hard to come by—e-mails hinting at new Sunday stock are still common and very excited in their tone—but if Nintendo doesn't meet hardware demand by 2009, something's seriously wrong.
