UK retailer GAME, who are about the only specialist retailer left in the mother country, began moving into the Australian market last year, buying out long-time local chain Gameswizards. Now, they're forging ahead with phase two of their operation, promising to open up 25 new stores this year, as well as starting up an online store.
And I for one welcome our new British retail overlords. EB Games have had it too good for too long in this country, so some decent, specialist competition is just what Australian consumers need.
