Damn, there a ton of games coming out this week. There were more than I could reasonably list here, so I put together a list of some of the highlights for you. I'll be picking up Cooking Mama: Cook Off to provide a nice balance to my relentless bloodletting in God of War II, but everything else will have to wait...even the Turtles.
- TMNT (X360, PS2, PSP, PC, WII, GC, DS, GBA) Cowabunga Dude! The pizza eating Turtle brothers come to every console known to man.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)
Fight mutants, zombies, monsters and mutant zombie monsters in the ruins of Chernobyl - Cooking Mama: Cook Off (WII)
Have your own Iron Chef competition! - Silverfall (PC)
An all new action RPG to suck more priceless hours of your life away. - Virtua Tennis 3 (X360, PS3, PSP)
More better tennis. - Armored Core 4 (X360, PS3)
As our own Luke Plukett so eloquently put it, "Go jump into a giant robot and blow up other robots" - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3)
The hugely popular PC and 360 title finally makes it's way onto the PS3. Now with a new race! - Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road (PSP)
The enormously popular Dragon Ball Z series gets another incarnation on the PSP - The Godfather: Blackhand Edition (WII)
The Corleone family makes mince meat outta NYC. - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (XBLA)
Kick old school vampire ass in widescreen!

I hope TMNT is decent though the laws of movie to video games tells me not to get my hopes up.
I'm gonna have to pick up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and V.I.R.T.U.A. T.E.N.N.I.S. 3 (PSP).
Your missing the two Hudson Soft games for the Wii: Wing Island and Kororinpa as well as Blazing Angels Wii by Ubisoft.
Wait, what? "New race" in PS3 Oblivion?
missing alot of wii games, maybe thats where the "drought" comes from
I think a lot of those wii games are missable though...Kororinpa is fun...Wing Island? Not so much...Godfather actually looks pretty good any US Kotakuite wanna let a brit know? Also Cooking Mama is already out? That was quick!
@Walshicus:
Yeah, this is the first I've heard of it. I suspect that is an error.
Am I the only one who had NO IDEA there was another TMNT game in the works?
That would be a pretty huge error. Though I suppose it is possible. I think they would need to put something new in or it just wouldn't appeal to that many people. Too many people have played it on PC or 360.
As for the Wii game, there are a tonne coming out, they just aren't good ones. Nintendo finally got their third-party support, but where are the good games?
oblivion on ps3 gets knights of the nine included.
Some games stores have called that a new race, which i assume to be a mistake (havent played the game myself so maybe i'm wrong, but i understood the knights to be a faction rather than a playable race)
Yeah, wake me up when they put in Sloads, Akaviri or those Monkey-men as playable races.
The new TMNT game is pretty good (the PSP one anyway) but I think the best TMNT game came out on Xbox Live last week... (well the best until the Wii VC gets Turtles in Time!)
uhm... I think C&C 3 is a definitely worth a mention here... it's certainly more important than virtua tennis...
Or until XBOX Live gets the Arcade version of Turtles in Time.
Arcade Edition > SNES Version
Wait... TMNT is making it to even the GC... But not the PS3?! Ha!!
I haven't played my Wii since Christmas, but I think I'll be picking up Cooking Mama out of desperation.
Tetris for the 360 as well :)
Yeah, I noticed places that have Knights of the Nine as a race too. That is incorrect, KotN is just a mini expansion with a new faction. I guess that's where the confusion came from.
Any game store location and/or employee that says the Knights of the Nine is a new race for Oblivion shouldn't be purchased from there ever again. It's like saying Luigi is the green version of Mario or Raiden is Solid Snake when he was younger.
virtua tennis 3 is the big one for me... gonna grab psp version.
Sorry I have to scream this out but:
You forgot Earth Defense Force 2017 for the Xbox 360!!! Comes out on the 20th and is full of gigantic monsters, explosions, and city destruction equaled only by Blast Corps. :D
I can't believe this!!!!! No TMNT on my CD-i!! Unbelievable!!!
@ Gloominati:
If you have any interest in golf games, Tiger Woods is phenomenal.
Earth Defense Force 2017, Armored Core 4 and Virtua Tennis for the 360. It's a good week. Why did I choose the 360 over the PS3 for AC4 VT3? XBL. BFF TTFN
And next week is Shivering Isles for Oblivion. Can't wait for that.
According to the screen shot you guys put up earlier when you announced SotN was coming out this week, you showed that it's not Widescreen. It's that same lame fullscreen w/ border thing they do for all the horrible games that come out.

(proof)
The Virtua Tennis 3 demo for the 360 kicked ass.. I'm holding out to see which version is better: the PS3 or 360 version. But if there's online play then the 360 version is better by default.
Don't forget Radio Allergy on GC. Yay for domestic shooter releases!
F8X: I really hope you don't actually own a CDi! I don't remember ever hearing one good thing about that system. I do remember seeing it all the time at Limeridge Mall in Hamilton (During it's first Christmas season). I believe a vendor was just standing in the middle of the mall trying to demo and sell units. I wonder if they actually sold any in Hamilton?
dave kap..is that game about fighting godzilla and if so is it any good...if so I need it
Don't forget about Lost in Blue 2, which, according to Konami, is coming out on the 20th. Hope it's good.
what!?! no games for the DS this week?
@AgentTofu: I don't know, I've got Turtle in Time arcade on MAME and the fewer levels and worse music really make the SNES version better in my eyes. The only thing the arcade version really has going for it is a few extra voice effects and 4-players instead of 2.
Turtles in Time is much better than the arcade version. Better graphics, smoother controls, more levels, better music...
Nothing for me, I've got 4 games on the 360 I want 1000 on really badly and have been playing them a lot, and I want Guitar Hero 2 for 360 so I'm saving! :)
It all depends on what you are looking for from Turtles in Time.
Arcade = More detailed backgrounds, enemies with more moves, more audio clips, real boss deaths, weather effects, PIZZA POWER INTRO (YES!), more level events.
SNES = Mode 7, Technodrome Level, 4 New Bosses (and 1 removed), better moves and differences between turtles.
So, for me, the Arcade wins out, but the SNES is a VC must.
I refuse to navigate through that horrible shitfest of the TMNT site. I've heard that it's only single player, is this true? If so..
L-A-M-E.
Why is there no Virtua Tennis for wii. If there is any console where a tennis game would be best its wii. WHAT THE F#CK
The arcade TMNT has the worst controls in the world and it you're a millimieter above or below your enemy you won't hit him and he'll just grab you. That game is SO cheap it makes Turtles in Time looks like a work of freakin art. And I remember the TMNT arcade game being so cool too.
@fludbucket: Godzilla is probably one of the enemy monsters but I somehow doubt it. It doesn't matter because there are many gigantic enemy monsters to fight and they more than make up for 1 giant lizard.
@Essonse: YES, LOST IN BLUE 2! I was actually anticipating this but forgot it was coming out ... like ... NOW. Thanks for the reminder!
@satsantokh: Because they'd probably have to write it completely differently rather than doing a port of the same code, since the control mechanism (done properly) would (a) be quite hard to implement, (b) completely change the balance of the game? I dunno, just guessing.
@DarkNight_DS: (about Hudson Soft games for Wii) - woo, great, now we get shitty rushed-out-for-launch Japanese cash-ins, but in English! Result. :) Seriously, yes they should have been on the list.
I'm kind of maybe interested in the Godfather port but I haven't seen a full review yet, it's probably so-so...
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=160219...
it seems like oblivion won't come this week.
Blazing Angels for Wii has good potential in my opinion. I haven't read how the controls are setup since no reviews have come out for it yet, but the Wii certainly has the potential for immersive flight simulator controls.
@satsantokh:
Please define "best".
While I understand what you're saying, by no means this game would be "best" game play-wise on the Wii. The reason? Precision.
Sure, it would be really fun on the Wii. No doubt about it. But best, I don't think so.
Gah. *bleeds out of wallet* $70 in DVDs releasing tomorrow, and on top of that I also have to buy more TMNT games? Oh, cruel world, when will you stop insisting on entertaining me in short, massive bursts and learn to spread it out more evenly?!?!?
i'm picking up godfather for wii, and my neighbor is picking up teenage mutant ninja turtles for wii, so it'll be a good day tomorrow
TMNT GBA will be godly!
Games I'm getting:
Godftather Wii (new controls, double the missions, priceless)
DBZ PSP (hopefully better than the original psp entry)
TMNT GBA (Will be the greatest side scrolling tmnt to date)
