As promised, the second new Resident Evil 4 trailer which actually plays a lot more like a trailer than a fan video. It also showcases more of the weapons and how they will work in the game, which is what everybody really wants to know. Plus, there's no weird voice over action happening in the end, so all is well.
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - Dangerous Situations Trailer [Game Trailers]

Comments
It was alright. Not quite what I had in mind in terms of seeing how the controls are going to be used, but then again I think what I want to see might be pretty boring for a game trailer.
Hey look! It's the second intro trailer from the GCN version of the game, but with Wii buttons interspersed throughout.
...I'm still honestly not convinced that this version of the game is worth $10 more than the GCN version, to tell the truth. I love RE4, it's a fantastic game, but the only thing that would make me buy it again would be an entire Wesker scenario, which obviously isn't gonna happen until RE5, heh.
Was it wrong of me to feel like I was watching a trailer for Metal Gear, just less convoluted with information? Seriously, the knife fight reminded me of the fight with Ocelot for some reason. Perhaps the "cinema" style of the trailer just reminded me of Metal Gear.
Or perhaps it was that online session of Portable Ops earlier clogging me mind with MGS and the information drought of MGS4 is fianlly getting to me.
Anyways, looks fun. Not enough for me to get the game again fun, but like Ninja Gaiden Sigma it's one of those that if you've never played it before go get it.
Hey this game looks pretty good!
But! the price tag is way too low for a real game.
Must be stinky since everyone knows, you get what you pay for.
If I'm not mistaken I thought the price tag was much lower ($30 I believe) because it's an old game, not because it's "stinky".
From what I've heard this was the best in the series so far. Shame I've never played it, might have to pick it up for the Wii after all.
Yea.. not that impressive :/
@Spinlock: The optimist in me hopes that Capcom decided that the game being already developed means it's cheaper to develop for the Wii, and Capcom is being nice enough to pass this on to customers.
The pessimist is looking at a cheap port. I might pick it up if they include bonus content.
I have a copy of it for the PS2.. I still need to beat it, but I just can't get into the game. I'm an old school RE fan.. might be why.
I suppose though, if my fiance really wants to, we'll pick this up for the Wii. I might get more into it that way. But I'm making him pay half.
The video brings back memories of the knife fight. Too bad some of those memories revolve around me being pissed off by the knife fight. Still one of the greatest games I played over and over on the PS2. I guess beating it on the Wii would be fun.
I hear Capcom really butchered the PC port.
I was initially pissed off at having to pay AGAIN for RE4, but now that I've had time to think about it (and found out that it will be 30 instead of 50 dollars) I'll probably get it. It'll be an excuse to play one of the best games ever made again, and this time I'll be able to play it on a system that doesn't make it look like garbage (I played it on PS2).
Also, I'll have more than two games for my Wii which I camped out on Thanksgiving to get and haven't even touched after I beat Twilight Princess.
This trailer is completely useless if you've already played RE4 on the Gamecube. It's just one of the intro videos (which was just a group of spoiled cutscenes) and shows no reason why I should buy the game again.
uh, this is the intro trailer from the Gamecube version of the game...can somebody justify why I should buy this, when I've already got it on the Gamecube?
What can I say? Amazing game; anyone that has a Wii and hasn't played it should do so ASAP; anyone that buys this having played any of the 3 versions already available is a sucker.
The knife fight drove me mad. I've finished the 'Cube version well over five times but I'll definitely be getting this version anyway. Can't wait.
Yay! No disembodied hands in a Wii trailer!
...i bet somewhere in the world the guy whose name "Krauser" and has friends who play RE4 just cant hear that line often enough ^^
WARNING
ABOUT TO EXPLODE
lol.
Reasons why you should get it:
GC Owners - It has the extra features the PS2 version had like Ada Wong's story and weapons.
PS2 Owners - It looks as good as the GC(if not better?) rather than the lousy way the PS2 played.
Everyone - It has the Wii controller, slashin zombies and pointing for more headshots might be fun.
Whether this is worth $30 is entirely up to you.
Personally, this is a good excuse for me to play it again.
@Gunhaver: Because I'm sure Capcom is only releasing this for people who have played the game before.
And in any case, the extras that were available in the PS2 version are probably going to come to the Wii version as well.
@Gunhaver:"uh, this is the intro trailer from the Gamecube version of the game...can somebody justify why I should buy this, when I've already got it on the Gamecube?"
I don't think the rerelease is for you, necessarily. I think it's more for the new Wii owners that didn't own it for GC or PS2. I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to buy it again simply for the 480p widescreen support and PS2 content.
Plus, it's only $30, so that will help move some units, too.
looking forward to playing this on my Wii
@Cell9song:
I thought Ubisoft did the PC port.
I'm pretty sure weird voice over guy is from the title screen to the game.
Yeah, the Ubisoft Logo is on the PC box.

@Black-Dog-Howls: HAHA you too. It's like the red dress lady is part of snakes crowd...LOL
@Cell9song: yeah they did... teething on direct x I guess...
It's only 30 dollars leave it or buy it easy choice. It's a no brainer at 30 dollars or at least renting it.
@brent_w:
God I hate Ubi! come on man some one else could have done this game on PC DAMN!
want to preorder one or get the gamecube version?

@error2k2: Actually the PS2 version didn't play lousy the controls were great. Plus it looked fine on the PS2, why were the graphics such a complaint?
This is the most non-new new trailer I've ever seen.
PRESS "A"
This ain't a cut scene.
Shoot 'em in the head!
Shoot 'em in the head!!!
@Spinlock:
Uh, yeah. You suck at being a consumer. SUCK really really bad. It's not fucking expensive so it's not worth it? What. The. Hell. Is. Wrong. With. You. The the game's already been out, so why would people buy a $50 game for Wii controls? The price point is perfect. Good game that's like $20 but with added controls for a new system, then add $10. And thus, $30. What is your breakdown? $20 + $10 for game and controls, then $20 to make it good? What the fuck. Please stop buying things. The phrase is not applicable here, fool.
Resi4 was the greatest single-player console game for the last gen. No arguements. Gamerankings agrees.
For new Wii controls? I'll pass. If they actually mix up the game a little, yes please.
well its still my favorite game of the last console gen.
@Archaotic:
The full widescreen and progressive scan make it worth it alone. Seriously, try playing the GC version on a 16:9 display. It's shit.
Hmm. I have those scenes memorized. Just don't know if I can justify buying this for $30. If there were say, at least 25% NEW content, maybe. The only thing I'd get out of it would be the widescreen (Demaar was right -- the original looked like crap on a 16:9 display -- it was letterbox within a letterbox), but I've already played through it on my projector, using the whole wall and it looked great there, so this one really isn't necessary. I wish Capcom would have at least updated the graphics a little bit to show us the "power" of the Wii. This is Nintendo, right? The "Now You're Playing With Power" company?
Oh, and the "shake the wiimote back and forth" control scheme will be annoying. I can't stand it in The Twilight Princess. But, if you HAVEN'T played this before, or only played the mediocre PS2 version, by all means pick this one up for the Wii!
I have the ps2 version and beat all of it... even w/ better graphics, for $30 I would go for a DS game.
It would be awesome if they made that knife scene completely interactive w/ the wiimote where you would have to swing attack and block all of krauser's attacks.
Oh yea and arm thrusting action for that crazy arm attack please in mercenaries.
Would need more story too to justify a purchase like a luis sera or krauser side missions.
hey guys! did you know you can get a product related to the subject of this post at play-asia.com?

As others have pointed out, this isn't a new trailer. And sadly it doesn't even tell us much about how weapons will be used/controlled; all the on-screen button presses you see are for one of the "quick time event" style sequences.
Since everybody feels compelled to preemptively weigh in on the merits of the port: I've played through RE4 multiple times on both the GameCube and PS2. I'm curious what this port brings as far as 16:9 support, how it will look now that I have component cables, whether there will be new content, and how they might rebalance it since the new control scheme will probably make headshots much easier. I'm curious, but not prescient. So I'm withholding judgment until we actually, you know, see the what the game is like.
Christ. I won't buy this for the sole reason that the knife fight with Krauser is going to be HELL with the wiimote.
