A Kameo or a Viva Pinata on a DS makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways from a franchise perspective.
Kim added to that statement, saying that Viva Pi ata represents "the beginning of an IP that will be a pillar for Microsoft Game Studios for a long time." Keep in mind that Kim did, however, mention a DS title as a possibility alongside a proper sequel and further merchandising. But also, don't forget that Rare has a history of working on the Game Boy Advance and DS, tapping properties like Banjo and Diddy Kong while under Microsoft's watch. If you ask me, VP on the DS is a perfect fit.
