Yeah, they're gone, and another Virtual Console game hits that's not quite 100% authentic.

On the one hand, I should have seen this coming, what with the lockdown EA have on both the NFL and NFLPA rights (despite the fact all the Tecmo Bowl guys are retired by now). But on the other...having those cute little officially-licenced names were one of the biggest factors in the game's success, so it's a shame to see them removed.

Doesn't make a difference to how it plays, of course, but the nostalgia fun-factor has certainly taken a hit. Luke Plunkett
