Frets on Fire is the latest entry in the computer-based Guitar Hero clones. Instead of a guitar, you wail away on your keyboard, strumming the Enter Key. You can even create your own songs in the song editor.

I'm not really sure it's worth bothering playing any of these games without the controller, but what Frets on Fire misses with its lack of a controller, it definitely makes up with in the style of its humor and presentation. And that tutorial is just darling: "Und hello everyone. My name is Jurgen Guntherswarchzhaffenstrassen."

If you don't have Guitar Hero, this is probably the next best thing. Go give it a shot. Florian Eckhardt
