As we all say a fond farewell to the Dreamcast, we can only hope that Sega pulls out of their ten year slump and get to keep their beautiful building in San Francisco off the 101. Maybe they'll do it it with their new digipet, the Dream Chick which flaps its wings when held and makes little peeping noises when stroked. It costs at low 1,507 yen ($12.90) but who wouldn't want a piece of the future of Sega?

Wow, I thought it was real in that second picture.
Wait, is it real in that second picture?
...
What?
I see this ending well. Little Kids grow up thinking that when a pet dies they can bring it back to life by shoving in some new AA batteries.
Oh the hilarity!
HA! you said stroked.
I wonder where one buys such a cute little ball of fluff... Not that I'D want one... *cough* ¬¬
That building makes me sad everytime I drive past it. I am however glad that they fixed the Neon SEGA logo on the building.
@Channing: haha, me too, wait ... what?
If that chicken plays Shenmue 3, I'll be all over it.
OMFG I need that for my mommy! Where can I order me one of them chicks?
holy crap i thought the chick in the 2nd pic was real too! very confusing @_@
@aphexacid:
"HA! you said stroked."
Uh hua hua hua hua, he said "stroked", uh hua hua hua hua, uh uh hua hua hua hua. So like, if they call it dream chick, uh hua hua hua, and like... they wanna stroke it, uh hua hua hua, does that mean like... people wanna do it with a chicken, uh hua hua hua, thats stupid, uh hua hua hua hua, uh hua hua hua hua, uh hua hua hua hua, uh hua hua hua hua, uh hua hua MY HEAD! Oh god, but anyway, almost forgot, we gots ourselves some fresh meat here, so word up Phu, and welcome to Best Buy... no wait.
Beautiful building on 101?
I never had the pleasure of being inside it, but it certainly looks like it can use some updating on the exterior.
Weird. It looks nothing like my dream chick.
I bought my first Dreamcast yesterday. Good thing I got a 1-year warranty from Gamecrazy. And overly cute chicks make me violent.
@nez77: Sega needs something! but a Robotic Chicken? Hmmmm... I'd like to help Sega out but they first have to admit they REALLY fudged up Sonic.. thats the first step! Second Step.. Listen to the feed back teams that test your freaking games! and if you can't do that.. just hand over your IP's to Nintendo and take a smaller profit. PLEASE!!
ADORABLE!
i want a nest full of Sega chicks
I want one!
OH MY GOD I NEED ONE.
They're selling them on Play-Asia, and they're cheap (Or should I say cheep, haha, I slay myself!).
Thanks for the tip Ojo, I would've thought these would be at least $30 US but with shipping it came to $18ish US.
Yeah the actual cost is only $12 dollars!
I'm weak, there's my impulse buy for the week (unless i pick up Guitar Hero 360)
To SEGA:
Buy Gamepark or Gamepark Holdings and re-release their portables, plus port your games to it.
Sincerely,
ME.
Heh, I'm a bit embarrased to say (I just turned 21, and I am a man [A manny man man]) I bought one about a week ago with my $100 gift certificate to Play Asia.com (was part of Sparkle Motion, won Digital Overload's GoW tourney, got $100 worth of (Play) Asian stuff).
I'm not really sure it's tamagotchi-like though, as I can't read the Japanese instructions. It seems to peep and flap randomly of you tilt it back, and shuts off after a few min. of inactivity.
It's still damn cute though.
@whiskey: That would beneat except that actual sega kind of sucks.
Why don't they turn that building into a SEGA shrine/museum? Or an outlet store like Sony? I'd definitely check a place like that out.
Yeeeaaah... I definitely just ordered 2 of these upon seeing this article.
it's in playasia for $12
