Remember the Tokyo Xbox Lounge? The Microsoft-rented space served up piping-cold green cake for the likes of Hideo Kojima and other assorted Japanese people. Sadly, that cafe is done and dusted.
But, Toshiba has come to the rescue with the lowercase nakata.net Cafe. Named after the dreamy Italian-speaking soccer player Hide Nakata, the space will be used to cheer on the fairly decent Japanese national soccer team as they get clobbered in this year's FIFA World Cup. There will be Toshiba laptops in an internet-type cafe, while all the games will be shown on a 170-inch big screen in the main hall. And yes, those sneaky folks at Microsoft snuck in a few Xbox 360 kiosks.
The Aoyama space will be open from April 25th to July 16th, from 11:00AM to 11:00PM.
