Everyone's favorite cheapskate Cheap D takes a look at how game systems hold their trade-in value with Tokyo's used retailers. For example, the game chain Enterking offers US $153 to buy DS Lites. The gallantly struggling Xbox 360 commands $128, which matches the trade-in value of a PSP Value Pack and a slim Silver PS2. Older DS models fetch $119.

"As much as I'd like to see the Xbox 360 succeed in Japan, I won't shed too many tears," writes Cheapy. "Just as long I can continue to score used 360 game deals like King Kong for $17 and Need for Speed for $25." Who said Japan was bad for 360 fans? With deals like that, the place sounds like paradise.
