Well, sort of. Earlier this week, a list of PS3 titles went up on Sony Japan's list of upcoming software. None of the games had release dates or pricing info, but had been previewed at last year's TGS.

To recap, the first-party titles were the RPG Angel Rings, action game Genji 2, Hot Shots Golf 5, action RPG Monster Carnival, The Eye of Judgment and Gran Turismo. But, the day after we posted the original story, commenter Higon pointed out that the PS3 titles had, poof, vanished.

Yesterday, I received an email from my Sony Japan PR contact regarding the announcement. I had asked her a series of questions: Why were the titles up? Are they the launch titles? Is this an indication of a spring release? The PR contact had this to say:

Dear Brian,

These were titles we already disclosed at Tokyo Game Show last year, as titles being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan for PLAYSTATION 3. We do not disclose further details.

Great! An answer that didn't answer anything. No surprises there. Sony gets big points for politeness, but not for sharing. That's for sure.
