With my own eyes, I have seen the PLAYSTATION 3. Not a PS3-looking case filled with styrofoam, but an actual, working console. And from what I remember, it was pretty black. Opaque, if you will. Game forum NeoGAF is saying otherwise. The PS3 becomes transparent when a bright light (in this case, a camera flash) is shined on it. Here's what the poster claims:
it doesnt show in most pictures because most digital cameras lack the quality to show it of I had to put the camera in manual mode and tinker with the settings to get it to show what you see is a huge fan that circulates the air trough the unit so it blows out from the vents on the side the unit also has liquid cooling pipes running trough it so it is assumed it will generate mucho heat
Note: This info does come from someone appropriately named Fishie, who's noted on NeoGAF to have it in for Sony. Take this with a grain of salt. My blu-ish PS2 is semi-transparent, so there might be some truth to this. But man, I hope not.
