This Day in Gaming, July 14th

1992: Nintendo releases Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan for NES, but it's called Super Mario USA. Changes were limited to a much fatter Mario than Japan had ever witnessed before.

1993: Nintendo releases Super Mario All-Stars for SNES in Japan. Future BitTorrenters need only download one file instead of four.

1995: EA releases interactive CD No World Order for PC. "Touch nothing, it's a standard audio CD. Touch everything, it's an interactive performance." Now that's deep. Emo deep.

1998: Nintendo releases F-Zero X for N64 in Japan, causing us to temporarily run out of Nintendo jokes. So who's heard of that Wii?

2005: Nintendo releases Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix in Japan - mostly as a cover for Mario's frequent raves in the "Mushroom Kingdom".

Obviously Nintendo really, really, really likes July 14th - really.
